It’s how I describe what I actually do. I’m a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and I don’t treat one symptom at a time — I look at the whole picture and build a plan around it. Hormones, labs, skin, energy: they’re connected, so I treat them that way.

Why the word engineer

Because most care is triage and this isn’t. Triage asks what’s wrong today and treats that. Engineering asks how the parts affect each other, measures them, and designs around the answer. That is a different job, and it needed a different word.
