The library

What should I expect at a first appointment?

We talk properly first — your history, your symptoms, and what you actually want to change. From there we decide what testing makes sense and what a plan could look like. You should leave understanding what is going on and what happens next, without jargon and without being rushed.

The thing I most want from a first appointment is the story. When did this start, what changed around it, what have you already tried, and what did you get told. That usually determines what we test far more than a standard checklist would.

It helps if you bring any recent labs, even ones you were told were normal — especially those, in fact. A result that was waved through is often the most useful thing in the room.

What you will not get is a plan handed to you before we have looked at you. Every plan here is built individually, which is exactly why nothing about it can be quoted to you in advance or read off a page.
